Grampy Turnips are character collectibles you can find in Mario & Luigi: Brothership, but all the locations of these buried mustached vegetables are scattered across many islands. These well-hidden Turnips exist in hard-to-reach areas you may only be able to reach through certain abilities. For those who take the time to find every Grampy, you will gain a great reward that may help you beat the game.
The RPG revival of Mario & Luigi: Brothership features plenty of platforming alongside its classic turn-based combat. You need to unlock various abilities to use in an island’s overworld to reach Grampy Turnips, who usually are in places inaccessible without a particular skill. It may be best to re-explore islands you’ve already cleared after you get new abilities to see if some new places can be unlocked to reveal Turnips.

Look For The Right Underground Plants
In total, there are 18 Grampy Turnips you can find on multiple islands you visit as you progress through the game’s story. Grampy Turnips appear as four-leaf plants sticking out of the ground in a small hole. You only need to press “A” to Pull one out of the dirt to reveal it and add it to the other collectible characters you’ve found on your travels.

Rewards For Finding Grampy Turnips
Return To The First Golden Grampy For A Special Item
The last Grampy Turnip you find in Soil-Tree Island will be a Golden Grampy, indicating that you have found every one of the character collectibles in the game. Thankfully, you never needed to use any of Mario or Luigi’s cool attacks in M&L: Brothership to reach any of the Grampy Turnips. Instead, the majority of them were on Soil-Tree Island, the last region of the game that you can’t explore until later in your adventure.
Return to the Golden Grampy Turnip you found on Soil-Tree Island to receive a special reward after talking to him. You get an item called the Grampy Turnip Gloves for finding every Turnip, which raises the wearer’s POW by 30% and lowers their SPEED by 30%. This can be a great item to boost your damage before facing the final boss of M&L: Brothership.
Although there are risks to using the Grampy Turnip Gloves, they are a powerful piece of endgame gear that could help you overcome the last few challenges of the game. This reward makes searching for all the Grampy Turnip locations in Mario & Luigi: Brothership worth it.
