- Daisy Mae’s Turnip prices will be different each Sunday but typically ranges from 90 Bells to over 100 Bells.
- Unlike other items, you have to buy Turnips in bundles of 10, which is what makes them so expensive. Buying Turnips at under 100 Bells is usually a good bet for getting good Bell returns.
- Consider writing down how much Bells you bought your Turnips for, or take a screenshot of the price for reference. You can then compare this to the selling price on later days.
- While buying turnips from Daisy Mae, you can hit a button in the top right of the number pad that says “Buy the Max”, if you don’t want to do the math of how many turnips you can afford. This takes your inventory space into account too, so if you only have one spot open, it’ll only allow you to buy one bundle of Turnips.
- If you’ve got friends playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, be sure to check what turnip prices they have. You can visit their town and buy turnips from Daisy Mae if they’re cheaper at their island.
If you want to play the turnip game, make sure you have a lot of Bells on you! Like stocks in real life, playing the stalk market is an investment, and so long as you sell your turnips before they rot the next Sunday, you should make money back.
You cannot plant Turnips, so don’t try to grow more!
How to Store Turnips
If you bought an abundance of turnips you may be wondering where to put them. You can’t put them in your house inventory, but you can just leave them on the floor. Yes, really, just leave them on the floor in your house until you want to sell.
Because of this, you may want to have at least one room completely empty. The upstairs room or the downstairs basement are good candidates for this because they have more floor space than the other rooms of your house.
Alternatively, if you’re not inviting friends over or sharing a Dodo Code in confidence, you can also just drop them in open places outside or on the beaches. Just remember: if another player comes to visit, they can pick up your turnips.
One way to keep them safe is to build a fence around them: when someone is visiting, you cannot remove any furniture or structures, keeping your turnips locked away until your visitors leave.
When to Sell Turnips
Like in previous Animal Crossing games, turnips go bad after a week, so after you invest, you have a whole week to sell them. So, here are our tips for selling turnips:
